Vietnam  1962-1964

A monk was sitting in a meditative position while another monk soaked him in gasoline. This moment sent chills down my spine because I was about to see a man burn to death ...

Months later, all hell broke out in Saigon as we experienced a coup d'etat, I wanted to capture the sounds of the coup so I took a reel-to-reel tape recorder, turned it on, and placed it in our living room.

Meantime, Dad was involved in Ophlan 34A sending young Vietnamese soldiers to place electronic surveillance equipment in North Vietnam.

We left Saigon in early 1964 still in turmoil after 2 coup d'etats and continued Vietnamese demonstrations against the government.
